Wooster is flexible and accommodating when a student has a passion for an activity beyond what is offered on the Wooster campus each day. 10th grader Sage Siegel is one of several students who pursue their interests and have experienced much success in their activity of choice.

Dr. Dan Mahony, President of Winthrop University, will be presenting at Wooster on Tuesday, September 25. Dr. Mahony's talk is entitled: "Lessons Learned in Leadership: How to Have the Impact You Desire." This event is open to the entire community and will be held in the Forever Young Gymnasium at 10:00 am on September 25.

On Friday, September 7, 2018, the official start to Wooster School's 93rd year began. The entire school gathered in the Forever Young Gymnasium for this special event which included a faculty performance of "September."

This morning at 8:45 am, the Wooster Middle and Upper School communities paid tribute to the first responders and victims of September 11, 2001.

The preseason practices are over; students have returned to the Wooster campus; the weather still feels summer like, but the fall sports season is about to begin! Upper and Middle School students will begin competing in cross country, football, soccer, and volleyball!

In June 2018, eleven Upper School students led by Chris Lener (Marine Ecologist and Middle School Science Teacher) and Barb Coleman (STEM Teacher and Co-Coordinator of the Bridge Program) had the opportunity to participate in Wooster's inaugural STEM education program at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Science (BIOS).

Earlier this month at the Special Olympic State Games, Reed Baker took his volunteering and support to a whole other level. Thank you to Reed and all of the Wooster students for being such an amazing support system for the Special Olympics team.

Wooster School held its Commencement Exercises on Friday, June 8, 2018 to celebrate the graduation of the Class of 2018. These seniors join more than 3,000 alumni who have graduated since Wooster's founding in 1926.

The Wooster School Undergraduate Awards Assembly was held on Wednesday, May 30 in the Forever Young Gymnasium. Congratulations to all of the Upper and Middle School award recipients and their families.

Wooster School's athletic celebrations are a unique experience. The athletics department continues to seek ways to balance the "team" experience with that of the "individual." Finding room for student-athletes, coaches, and parents to reflect and share their favorite memories is a community and team building exercise and one that we feel is important to the success of our program.

Charlie Stuhr '20 has been selected to compete in the "A" Singles Championship Draw. Brady Knuff '20 and Andrew Felton '19 have been selected to compete in the Doubles Championship Draw. All matches will take place on Saturday, May 26 at the Torrence Hunt Tennis Center at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, CT.

Earlier this month, the entire Lower School took part in a Jump Rope for Heart event designed to celebrate the students' record-setting fundraising efforts. Nearly 70% of the students participated in raising more than $12,000 for the American Heart Association.

The Wooster School Ultimate Frisbee team is having its finest year in school history, currently with a record of 19-2! The team is currently ranked 3rd in the nation and 1st in the state of Connecticut. The team has, for only the second time in school history, qualified to play in the First Division of the New England Prep School Ultimate League (NEPSUL) Tournament.

Wooster will take on Watkinson School in a semifinal match. Storm King School and Millbrook School will compete in the other semifinal match. Both semifinals, as well as the tournament finals, will be held on Saturday, May 19 at Millbrook School starting at 9:30 am.
