This year, another new club has been created at Wooster, and that is Soccer Club. The club captains are Presley Damiano and Eian Cushnie who are both juniors. This week I asked some questions about the club and got to learn more about it.
Soccer Club started in the beginning of the third trimester. All ages can come play soccer together whether it is a game or just passing the ball around on the turf. When spring sports started, Presley and Eian wanted to find a way to keep fall sports going. The club usually has around 10-15 players showing up, but it always changes because they have new members joining. Some of the players are new to soccer, and some of them have played almost their whole lives.
During the beginning of the spring trimester when it was colder, the clubs would play Futsal in the gyms. Recently, they have been scrimmaging on the turf and they usually do 7 v 7. Soccer club meets during the second lunch during clubs and at the turf and they hope to gain more members in the future.
