Purpose, Project, & Passion Giving

Wooster's success is built on the dedication of not only our faculty and staff but also the generosity of families and friends like you.  Your philanthropic support directly impacts our ability to provide enriching programs, innovative learning opportunities, and exceptional facilities for our students.

PURPOSE Giving–  Annual Appeal Goal: $400,000

The heart of our Purpose Giving efforts is the Annual Appeal, which supports the ongoing, essential needs of Wooster. These unrestricted donations—whether through the Generals Fund, the Grandparents & Special Friends Fund, or other initiatives—allow us to respond to the school’s immediate needs. These funds are crucial for addressing the day-to-day operations that keep Wooster strong.

This year’s Action Calendar for unrestricted funds includes:

Fall Annual Appeal Letter: A special letter from the Head of School emphasizing the needs for the year.

Day of the General: Tuesday, December 2, 2025– Our 24-hour online giving day, to raise $300,000.

Calendar Year-End Push: Targeting gifts through December 31, 2025, emphasizing tax incentives and holiday giving.

Grandparents & Special Friends Day: Friday, April 10, 2026

PROJECT Giving– Restricted Gifts

Project Giving speaks to those who wish to see the direct, tangible impact of their donations on Wooster’s students, faculty, and campus. Whether you’re passionate about academics, the arts, or campus improvements, project-specific gifts allow donors to focus their support on areas they care most about. We offer restricted funds that focus on specific aspects of school life, such as Social Emotional Learning, and support for our Teaching Faculty. Last year, we received support to launch the Robotics program, expand the Makerspace, and more.

This year’s Action Calendar to support our restricted efforts include:

Spring Fundraiser: Saturday, May 16, 2026

PASSION Giving– Leadership Gifts

For those who want to make a transformative impact, Passion Giving involves leadership-level gifts that help secure Wooster's future for years to come. As we look to the future, these gifts will allow us to take bold steps in shaping the strategic direction of Wooster, ensuring that the school continues to grow and thrive.

Leadership Level / Multi-Year Giving

■ Over time we have been fortunate enough to have donors in our Wooster community who have expressed interest and who have committed leadership-level gifts that have been transformative to the growth and preservation of our school. These gifts have been given in lump sum or pledged over several years. Gifts have supported capital projects, as well as, program creation and/or expansion.

Planned Giving

■ Members of the John D. Verdery Society have placed Wooster School in their estate plans.
