Every year, the Undergraduate Awards celebrate juniors and sophomores who have excelled in math, science, english, history, world languages, theater, arts, and making and design classes. For their prize, students receive a book hand-picked by faculty members for each award.
Humanities
Neal Adams Book Prize: Given to a member of the Junior class that has shown excellence in history. Neal Adams was a voracious reader and deep thinker. — Lil '27
Joseph S. Grover Award for Excellence: Junior English award recipient represents excellence in learning as a writer and reader throughout the year. This award is given to a student who has shown significant growth as a writer, a reader and a thinker. — Erin '27
Scott Adam Margolin Scholar Award: This award is presented to a current junior. The award, named for a cousin of alumnus David Cirilli ‘94, and nephew of Wooster Trustee Dante Cirilli, honors the memory of Scott Adam Margolin. Scott was an accomplished and prize-winning writer at Middlebury College who was tragically killed at the end of his freshman year following a camping trip to New Mexico. Scott was a naturalist who planned to pursue a degree in environmental studies. This award recognizes a junior who demonstrates strong writing abilities and an abiding sensitivity to the environment. — Joel '27
