The start of school ushered in the fall sports season, and with that, lots of excitement about the year ahead.
“It was great to get out there and play as a team for the first time, even if we lost,” said Girls Varsity Soccer Captain Kathryn ’26 after their first loss to Harvey.
Many athletes felt this was the case during the fall; win or lose, they felt excited to be back out there. This year, Wooster had an all-time high of participating students in sports.
Over the course of the year, Yiorgos ’27 and Kathryn ’26 took on Athlete Spotlight and recognized deserving athletes over the course of the season. Some highlighted athletes included Cece ’29 for her outstanding cross country season, Trey ’28, who really stepped up into the light during basketball season, Rayssa ’28, who demonstrated extreme growth and dedication to the girls' lacrosse team, along with countless other athletes who made an impact on Wooster sports this year.
Two dedicated athletes, Kathryn and Ella, are committed to playing at the Division III level in college. Kathryn will be attending Hobart William Smith to continue her tennis career, and Ella will run for the Virginia Wesleyan Cross Country team.
While championship titles often define a sports season, they do not fully capture the dedication and growth that characterize athletic success. Wooster athletes compete in the Housatonic Valley Athletic League (HVAL), a competitive conference of independent preparatory schools across New York and Connecticut. During the 2025-2026 season, several Wooster teams exemplified exceptional grit and determination, culminating in outstanding achievements. Boys Varsity Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country, and Boys Varsity Tennis all brought home championship trophies.

To cap off an outstanding year of Wooster athletics, an awards ceremony was held on May 18 to honor exceptional athletes for their hard work, dedication, and achievements in their respective sports.
