2026 Middle School Winter Concert

2026 Middle School Winter Concert

This past Wednesday, the Middle School held a concert where the chorus, chamber ensemble, and rock band all performed. They performed a variety of songs, including “Royals” by Lorde and “Where Is My Mind” by Frank Black. Ms. Mailhot is a big fan of “Stranger Things” and had the Middle School chorus sing “Running Up That Hill,” which is sung in the show.

“That song has such a great drive and great harmonies too, and they sang it so well,” she said.

The EMS group had the chance to sing two songs, both of which were performed very well! The students got to use their creativity and collaboration skills to work together and come up with some parts on their own.

“The students came up with their own arrangements, and they were fun, and each one was very different and represented their own unique strengths,” Khloe, an 8th grader here at Wooster, said.

She is a part of the chorus and loves the variety of songs and different types of music they get to sing.

“My favorite part is harmonizing and working with our group to create a smooth-sounding song,” she said.

Overall, this particular group of students has grown a lot throughout the year, and Ms. Malihot has had an amazing time working with them.

The EMS band, DLT, also had a great night. They had a range of instruments like the bass, drums, and two people on vocals. They also had the opportunity to be part of the debut.

“They rocked the house, and everyone loved them,” Ms. Mailhot said.

Their performances throughout the night were a success, and their improvement throughout the year was clear to everyone.
