Students were excited, preparing for the college fair on Thursday, April 16. The Junior class spent the week finalizing their resumes and preparing to meet with representatives from 70 colleges. As part of the college process, the fair is an opportunity that Wooster offers to the Junior class, as well as underclassmen.
This was the 15th year of Wooster’s college fair, and the fourth led by John Newman, the Director of Student Guidance. He works closely with college representatives to ensure the event runs smoothly and provides students with an opportunity to explore different colleges right here on campus.
“I want the college fair to give students an idea of how many schools are available to them,” Mr. Newman said.
On the morning of the college fair, the juniors gathered in the Reception Center to go over everything one last time

before their mock interviews. Students were both excited and nervous as the time approached. While the first wave of juniors met with the representatives, the other group continued reviewing their talking points.
“The college fair helped me realize what colleges I want to visit over the summer and soon apply to,” Trevor ’27 said.
After the interviews, the rest of the Upper School students came down to the gym and joined the Juniors visiting the tables. The gym was filled with students talking to both schools on their lists and unfamiliar ones.
The Sophomores and Freshmen got to observe the process that they will be beginning in a year or two. This gave them the chance to get to know possible colleges.
“It was really fun to get a glimpse of what the college process will look like next year,” Amelia ’28 said.
Overall, the college fair was a huge success again this year, not just among the Junior class, but for the whole Upper School. It provided students with the opportunity to engage with college representatives and ask meaningful questions.
