This week at Wooster has been pretty uneventful with not much happening. It is the second week back from winter break and people are still getting acclimated to school again. It has been very cold weather this week with Monday being the warmest. This week will be the first day of classes for SAT and ACT prep for juniors so many people will be getting to school early on Tuesdays for the class. This is an important part of getting ready for the college process, so people are starting to prepare. Also for juniors, there is a leadership class starting on Wednesday. It will be once a month on Wednesday and will help the Class of ‘26 learn about leadership opportunities and ways that you can be a leader in your community.
During Chapel, we learned about MLK and what he did to make an impact on people because of the upcoming holiday MLK Day on Monday. We will have the day off from school, and have opportunities to volunteer as a way to honor Dr. King. Also in Chapel, the Archives team at Wooster (Mrs. Thaler, Ellie, Jaxs, and Hannah) presented. Earlier in the year, we heard about some of Wooster’s history as a boarding school, and were asked to submit questions we had about previous eras at Wooster. The Archives team answered some of those questions on Wednesday, focusing on sports this time. This included fun facts like what sports were played in the early days, where they were played and who donated the Forever Young Gym. We will continue to do so throughout the rest of the school year. Speaking of Archives, on Monday, Max Chelso '20, presented in freshman Humanities about his work as an Archivist at the Danbury Museum & Historical Society, which ties in nicely with him being a Wooster alum.
People are excited for this long weekend and being able to sleep in a little longer. Overall, this week at Wooster has been pretty laid back and there hasn’t been much happening.
