Fall Sports Head Into Final Stretch

Fall Sports Head Into Final Stretch

As fall sports begin to wind down, HVAL finals near, and Senior Days start to occur on campus, we thought it would be important to highlight all of our senior fall athletes who work hard every day to make their final Wooster fall season memorable and successful. The bittersweet feelings become evident during these concluding weeks, as so many seniors have spent their entire high school years dedicated to these teams. Not only have the seniors proven dedication, but these teams have helped to build bonds, confidence, and new relationships across grade levels.

Because of Wooster’s added level of encouragement, and because every student has to do after school activities in order to graduate, we’re all forced out of our comfort zones, to try new things we never knew we could. Everyone is able to find something that they enjoy doing, and the amount of variety means nobody will ever feel unseen. Teams are able to forge such strong bonds that last a lifetime. Specifically at the end of each season, many bittersweet feelings emerge as we watch our seniors move on. Each and every senior who has been a part of a team or group, has put in so much effort, and made such an impact. During my first year playing volleyball as a freshman, the seniors took me in immediately, making me feel so welcomed. I will never forget the late night bus rides talking to my senior friends, and how upset I was when I had to say goodbye.

Whether it was their first year playing on Varsity, or they had been starting since eighth grade, every single member of the 2025 graduating class has made a difference. As said by my teammate Abbe Kanfer, who has been playing volleyball since the start of high school, but had her first Varsity season this year, “My team has taught me to value the perspectives of younger students. It means so much that for my last season I can go out with a bang, and be on the Varsity team. Before coming to Wooster, I never knew the opportunities that were possible.” For me, this couldn’t have captured it better, and I’m so proud of her and every senior who has been putting their all into these teams.

The legacy of this year's seniors will inspire the underclassmen for years to come. Their commitment and passion has laid a strong foundation for each team’s future, proving that hard work truly pays off. As they prepare for the next chapter, we all can’t wait to see where their journey’s take them. Whether pursuing sports at the collegiate level or exploring new paths, they all have such extraordinarily bright futures ahead.

Here's what some of our seniors had to say about their fall seasons, winding down. Thank you, seniors!
