This week we are traveling to sunny Australia where I asked Teddy all about his experience. In Australia Teddy and his family stayed in Perth with his grandparents because that is where his dad's side of the family lives. Teddy also got the chance to spend a weekend in Dunsborough. When Teddy was in Australia he spent most of his time at the beach with his cousins and family. Teddy also told me about two popular Australian foods, sausage rolls and meat pies. Teddy said, “A sausage roll is a sausage wrapped in a pastry. A meat pie is traditionally ground beef, but it can have anything inside of it. The ground beef is inside of a pastry. Both of these famous Australian foods are almost always served with ketchup.” One fun fact about Australia is that when you drive, you drive on the left side of the road. Teddy said, “It was really confusing for me being in the back because I constantly thought we were on the wrong side of the road. Luckily my dad spent most of his life in Australia so he didn't have trouble driving.” Another fun fact about Australia is that their weather is the opposite of our weather. For instance, when we have summer it is Australia's winter and when we have winter it is summer in Australia. Overall Teddy said he had an awesome time and experience in Australia. Australia is definitely a place I would want to visit in the future and after hearing about Teddy's experience it seems like a great travel destination for all.
