Archives: Wooster News is Back!

Wooster News is back! We don’t know if this will be its permanent name, but as we decide (and yes, we’re open to suggestions), and because it’s the first issue in a long time, we’re calling it this.

Wooster News used to be a regular publication that was published and mailed to families, alumni, and the community. You may recognize some versions of it from the past (see below), as it has varied between a magazine, a newsletter, and color or black and white.

Now in the day of everything being online, you’re finding our new version in your inbox. We’ll send this out about twice a year for now, and we’ll share some history of Wooster, what’s happening now on campus, share pieces from the Archives; we’ll also include the Alumni Spotlight, Class Notes, upcoming events, and allow you to update our alumni database.

If you have story suggestions, class notes, archives pieces, or other information that we could share, please send it our way! We love to hear from you.

As college application deadlines approach in early November, the entire Wooster School community rallies around our graduating senior class. Beyond mere encouragement and well wishes, however, the entire school – from classroom teachers, to coaches, to support staff and administrators – shifts its attention and workflow for one entire day to contribute to a workshop designed to help seniors put the finishing touches on their college admission materials.

Homecoming 2023 Recap
Shannon Prohaszka, Chief Development Officer

On Saturday, October 14, 2023, Wooster School welcomed back dozens of Generals from the past. Class representatives spanned from our most recent Alumni who just graduated in 2023, to those who crossed the stage to accept their diplomas in 1961. A true testament to the day was that there was multiple alumnus from every decade in between.
