Dear Wooster Alumni,

Homecoming 2024 was one for the books! On Saturday, October 5th, we hosted our largest and most successful Homecoming to date, welcoming over 160 alumni and their loved ones back to campus. With representation from the Class of 1957 through our most recent graduates in 2024, this Homecoming boasted the widest span of alumni participation in Wooster’s history.

Thanks to perfect weather and enthusiastic engagement, this year’s turnout far surpassed last year’s numbers—more than doubling alumni registration from 60 in 2023 to over 140 this year, plus an additional 20+ guests. The energy on campus was truly electric as old friends reconnected, shared memories, and created new ones.

A special highlight of the day was the recognition of two outstanding alumni. Bing Shen ’67, one of Wooster’s first international students, traveled from California to be honored. In addition to receiving his award, Bing had a meaningful lunch with 12 of our current international students, fostering a unique intergenerational exchange. We also celebrated our Young Alumni Award recipient, Iris Mustich ’12, whose commitment to supporting the TSC Alliance has made a significant impact in the lives of others.

Another standout moment was the Class of 1964’s remarkable return to campus. Nine members gathered to celebrate their 60th reunion, making them the most represented class of the day. Inspired by their visit and a special meeting with Head of School Matt Byrnes, the class launched an appeal to support the Head of School Fund, ensuring future generations of Wooster students will benefit from their generosity. Fund support was also directed towards our Beekeeping Program and Makerspace.

For those who couldn’t make it, we invite you to relive the day’s festivities through our Homecoming Video, capturing the spirit and camaraderie of the event.

As we continue to strengthen alumni engagement, we are excited to announce that our Alumni Newsletter will expand to three editions per year, with more to come on our schedule. We look forward to keeping you connected and sharing more stories that celebrate our incredible alumni community.

We encourage all alumni to stay engaged with Wooster by coordinating a campus visit, reconnecting with former classmates, or finding ways to engage with our current students. Your continued involvement helps strengthen the Wooster community and ensures that future generations benefit from your experiences and support. Mark your calendars for Homecoming 2025 on October 3, 2025, and stay tuned for exciting plans as we kick off our Centennial Celebration in the fall of 2026!

Hoping to hear from you sooner than later,

New this year, we have added a #TBT to our Facebook page (that’s Throwback Thursday in case you didn’t know - we didn’t have that when most of you went here!). Recently, we shared photos of a snowy campus and asked for your memories to be shared. For those of you who don’t follow us, or read the comments, and in honor of what could be a snowy winter ahead, we are sharing some of the memories that were shared with us.
