Variable Tuition

• Beginning October 1, 2023 go to School and Student Services
• Create your PFS Online account with your email address and a password. If you applied for last year, simply login to the PFS Online as a Returning Family, using the email address and password you set up last year.
• Begin a PFS for Academic Year 2024-25. You can log out of the PFS Online at any time, then return later to complete it.
• After you have pressed submit, you'll be brought to a payment screen. The fee of $55 is nonrefundable. Once your PFS is submitted, it cannot be withdrawn from the SSS system.
• After you pay for and submit your PFS, you'll have access on the PFS Online to a section called "Manage Documents."
• You can upload the additional documents we require there.

• Prepare your documents to be uploaded. Make sure the documents are on your computer, each saved as a separate file. Remove any security or password protection from your document files. Strike out your social security number.
• Return to the PFS Online and login.
• Select the Academic Year 2024-25 button.
• From the PFS Online, click on the "My Documents" tab.
• On the "My Documents" page, you will see an upload button or a hyperlink next to a specific document name in the "Required Documents" section of the PFS. Clicking either the upload button or a hyperlink will lead you through a series of steps allowing you to name, locate and save the file.
• Once you have uploaded a document, the date will appear in the "Date Uploaded" column within minutes of the upload. Some tax documents go through a verification process. It can take up to 48 hours for the verification process to complete. We ask SSS to verify the current and prior year's tax documents.

For overnight service, use: SSS by NAIS, Application Processing Center, 15 Dan Road, Suite 102, Canton, MA 02021. If you need help completing the PFS, contact SSS customer service at (800) 344-8328.

No, only those families who feel they are unable to pay full tuition and want to apply for a reduced tuition amount need to submit the forms.

A family’s financial need does not affect a student’s acceptance to Wooster School. Variable Tuition is determined separately.

The first admission notification date for the next school year is in February 2024 and will include a separate response regarding Variable Tuition. Responses to families will fall into three categories: an offer of Variable Tuition; notification that the family does not qualify for Variable Tuition; or notice that the family is wait-listed for Variable Tuition. A wait list designation means that a family will be considered for Variable Tuition if additional funding becomes available.

Unfortunately, no. The number of accepted students whose families qualify for Variable Tuition usually exceeds our school's budget. We do not guarantee funding for, nor are able to fund, all deserving students. Most years, Variable Tuition is offered to a high percentage of accepted students whose families demonstrate need.

Provided family circumstances remain the same and our resources can continue to support the program to the same extent, we intend to fund the student for four years. To continue in the program, the family must reapply each year.

There is a wide range of families who qualify, from those who can afford only minimal tuition to those who can afford almost full tuition. In calculating each family's ability to pay, we consider many factors.

Although a family is welcome to reapply or apply for the first time for Variable Tuition in any year, the school is seldom able to accept families into the program after ninth grade.

Due to the resource-intensiveness of The Bridge Program and Pathways Program, admission is not need blind.
