Wooster School twelfth grade student, Renata Abiali, received the Student of the Month Award from the Danbury chapter of the National Exchange club on December 7. This award is given to a student for outstanding contribution and service to their local community.

Wooster students currently taking the Deep Learning Initiative course Complexity and Life, using a tutorial process, worked in research teams to document and assess mammal, tree, bird, wildflower, and bee diversity on our campus.

The preseason practices are over; we held our third annual Mid-Day Madness; the weather still feels like fall, but the winter sports season is about to begin! Upper and Middle School students will begin competing in basketball, hockey, and skiing!

Wooster School's athletic celebrations are a unique experience. The athletics department continues to seek ways to balance the "team" experience with that of the "individual." Finding room for student-athletes, coaches, and parents to reflect and share their favorite memories is a community and team building exercise and one that we feel is important to the success of our program.

In this one-act piece, 6 actors play multiple roles in scenes ranging from Shakespeare to contemporary Drama. Performances are: Friday, November 17 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, November 18 at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm in the Black Box Theatre. All tickets are $15 each.

In addition to winning the HVAL Tournament Championship for the second year in a row, Wooster School's Varsity Girls Volleyball team has been selected to compete in the prestigious Class C New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Tournament. Wooster is the #6 seed and will travel to play at #3 seed St. Luke's School on Wednesday, November 15 at 4:00 pm.

The Varsity Cross Country Boys Team and Varsity Cross Country Girls Team are set to compete at the 2017 New England Prep School Track Association (NEPSTA) Division IV Cross Country Championships. The race will take place on Saturday, November 11 at Berwick Academy in South Berwick, ME. The varsity girls race is set to begin at 1:15 pm and the varsity boys race is set to begin at 2:00 pm.

Wooster ran away with the wins! The boys team won the championship in a hard fought battle with Christian Heritage (44-48). The girls team narrowly beat out Harvey School and Christian Heritage (50-53-54).

The students are thrilled to announce that Pre-K will be sponsoring a camel and Kindergarten will be sponsoring a llama for the year at Green Chimneys! They will be teaching each other about these animals and look forward to visiting them in the spring.
