Update Regarding Wooster School Homecoming
Dear Alumni,
We hope this note finds you well as we all begin to see some brightness in our future.
After much consideration given to the purpose of Homecoming, our evolving conditions, and our ability to create a safe and fun atmosphere, we have decided not to move ahead with a May 2021 date and instead focus our energies on an in-person event for the fall of 2021. Homecoming will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, as long as conditions at the time permit us to hold an in-person event.
While we regret that this is the case for this year, we have reason to be optimistic about next year. As no doubt you are monitoring, we are beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel as our vaccination roll-out continues and case numbers decrease. While of course we will need to adapt to the context in front of us, it increasingly looks as if conditions may allow us to "re-open" campus and welcome you back to celebrate Homecoming here as one Wooster family next fall.
And on that note: this year (2020-21) we were set to recognize the Great Classes ending in 5 and 0 for reunions. Next year (2021-22) was set to be the Classes ending in 6 and 1. We'd like to recognize all four class years next fall, as part of our broader campus reopening.
As we look ahead to the remainder of this year and beginning of next, we are continuing to look for ways to help you stay connected to our school. To that end, please note that we are extending an invitation to all alumni for this year's virtual Gala (Saturday, May 22). Also, be on the lookout for invitations to a number of spring virtual events. We're hoping to share as much as possible with you as our warm weather returns and we conclude the academic year 2020-21.
Of course, if you would like to discuss any of the above, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We would love to hear from you and continue to find ways to partner on behalf of our school.
Sincerely,
Matt Byrnes Head of School
